The Marvel Studios marketing machine continues its promotional initiative by carpet bombing the interwebs with B-Roll footage, movie clips and TV spots as we enter the last three weeks before the release of the next exciting chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR on May 6th, 2016.

Today, let’s check out the exclusive CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR clip which debuted on Jimmy Kimmel Live last weekend. *SPOILER ALERT!* DO NOT read beyond this point if you don’t want to be spoiled of what transpires in the actual movie..

CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR – Movie Clip #2 “New Recruit”

Taken out of context, this scene feels REALLY staged to me, with all the other heroes just standing around gaping at Ant-Man and Cap as they get introduced to each other. Don’t get me wrong….Paul Rudd is a funny guy and his ‘think-thank’ tongue twister is definitely chuckleworthy!

But I just hope that this scene is a small downbeat in between action pieces to allow a bit of character development for #TeamCap before the action picks up the pace again in the eventual movie.

Marvel’s CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team.

The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps—one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark’s surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR hits theaters worldwide on May 6th, 2016.
