20th Century Fox has recently release a featurette of X-MEN: APOCALYPSE, focusing on the villainous Four Horsemen – imbued with extra powers to do the bidding of the movie’s central villain, the first mutant ever, En Sabah Nur a.k.a. Apocalypse.
Personally, I much preferred director Matthew Vaughn’s fresh take on the X-Men universe when he rebooted the franchise via X-MEN: FIRST CLASS in the Swinging Sixties. When Bryan Singer came on to reclaim the X-Men franchise via X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST and now X-MEN: APOCALYPSE, I feel it was definitely a misstep on 20th Century Fox’s part as Singer is just interested in doing the same’ol, same ‘ol. Hopefully this featurette on Apocalypse’s Four Hosrsemen manages to convince you otherwise.
X-MEN: APOCALYPSE – The Four Horsemen Featurette
Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac), the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
X-MEN: APOCALYPSE is set for release at cinemas worldwide on May 27, 2016.
